

The Representative of Awgu North Constituency and Deputy Leader Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Jane Eneh, on June 9th 2026 joined eminent women leaders, clerics and government officials at the June edition of the Enugu Women’s Monthly Prayer Meeting held at the Michael Okpara Square, Independence Layout, Enugu. The prayer gathering, spearheaded by Dr. Mrs. Favour Ugwuanyi served as a solemn moment of thanksgiving and intercession for the peace, security and continued prosperity of Enugu State and Nigeria. Expressing profound gratitude to God for His faithfulness and mercy, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Eneh commended the Enugu Women Prayer Organization for sustaining a noble vision of seeking God’s face for the state and urged women to intensify prayers against insecurity while seeking divine protection, safety for the State and Nigeria as a whole.

In his sermon, Rev. Edwin Njoku charged participants to embrace genuine transformation and remain steadfast in faith with special prayers offered for the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, leaders in positions of authority, families, supplicating for unity, peace and the grace of God. The prayer meeting attracted an array of distinguished personalities, including Her Excellency, Chief Mrs. Nkechinyere Ihuoma Mbah, Wife of the Governor of Enugu State, who was ably represented by Mrs. Chinyere Ugwu, Wife of the Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly. Addressing the women, she encouraged them to remain fervent in prayer and continue standing in the gap for their families, communities, the state and the nation. Goodwill messages were also delivered by the Member IV of the Enugu State Local Government Service Commission, Amb. Amaka Nweke; the President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), Hon. Chichi Ogbu; the APC State Women Leader, Hon. Esther Edeh; the ALGON Chairperson, Mrs. Rita Edeh, alongside several local government chairpersons and other eminent women leaders, religious leaders and government officials, highlighting the significance of the monthly prayer initiative in promoting unity, spiritual renewal and collective responsibility among the people of Enugu State.
