
The Representative of Awgu North Constituency and Deputy Leader Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Jane Eneh, has called on women across Enugu State to strengthen grassroots mobilization and assume greater roles in the political process after the successful inauguration of Tinubu Torchbearers Movement at the Presidential Villa Abuja, on Wednesday June 3rd, 2026. The movement inaugurated by the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and spearheaded by the APC National Woman Leader, Dr. Mary Alile Idele, seeks to consolidate support for the Renewed Hope Agenda and deepen citizens participation in governance. The event attracted notable political leaders and stakeholders including the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who was ably represented by Dr. Ben Nwoye, APC Deputy National Chairman (South) alongside other eminent personalities from across the federation. Rt. Hon. Mrs. Eneh, who was part of the Enugu State delegation described the inauguration as a significant milestone in promoting inclusive politics and empowering women as catalysts for national transformation.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the Awgu North lawmaker stressed that women remain the backbone of every successful political structure and a decisive force in electoral victories. She therefore urged women from all walks of life across Enugu State to unite and actively key into the Tinubu Torchbearers Movement and the leadership of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah in order to sustain the momentum for development and prosperity. While reaffirming her support for All Progressives Congress flag bearers ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Enugu State delegation to the inauguration included the APC South-East Zonal Woman Leader, Dr. Oby Ajih; Enugu State APC Woman Leader, Mrs. Esther Edeh; Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Ngozi Valentina Enih; Commissioner IV of the Enugu State Local Government Service Commission, Mrs. Amaka Nweke; Dr. Favour Ugwuanyi, mni, and several other distinguished women leaders committed to advancing the cause of progressive governance and women inclusion in leadership.
