In a renewed commitment to food security, youth empowerment and sustainable economic growth, the Senator Representing Enugu West Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Air Force, Distinguished Senator Dr. Osita Ngwu has sponsored youths drawn from across the five local government areas of Enugu West to internationally acclaimed Songhai Farm Institute, where they are acquiring cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills in modern farming, agribusiness and entrepreneurship. The capacity building programme is designed to equip participants with contemporary farming techniques, agribusiness knowledge and value chain opportunities capable of fostering self reliance, job creation, driving rural economic transformation and viable source of sustainable wealth among the younger generation.
Further demonstrating his dedication to boosting agricultural productivity, Senator Ngwu also facilitated the distribution of fertilizers and other essential agricultural inputs to farmers across the district. The intervention is aimed at supporting farmers, improving crop yields and enhancing food security especially at a time when increased local production has become imperative; in line with the transformational vision of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Executive Governor of Enugu State whose administration continues to prioritize agricultural revolution and economic prosperity for the people of the state. Distinguished Senator Dr. Osita Ngwu, who also serves as Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content, reaffirmed his dedication to empowering the people, strengthening livelihoods and advancing a prosperous future for Enugu West Senatorial District.
