The Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Air Force, Distinguished Senator Osita Ngwu, has assured the people of Inyi in Oji River Local Government Area of his commitment to delivering more impactful and life-changing projects across their communities. The Senator gave this assurance on Sunday, November 1, 2026, when he led his colleague at the National Assembly, Hon. Anayo Onwuegbu, representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency, and Hon. Osita Eze, representing Oji River State Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, to a Thank You Mega Rally organised by the people of Inyi Wards 1, 2, 3 and 4.
‎The rally, convened by Hon. Ogoo Ihemezue was organised to appreciate the three representatives for their performance, contributions, and achievements in their respective constituencies since assuming office three years ago. Addressing the gathering, Senator Ngwu expressed profound appreciation to the people for taking the initiative to organise the rally, likening their gesture to the biblical account of the one leper who returned to give thanks after receiving healing. He described the event as a significant morale booster and a source of encouragement to him and his colleagues to intensify their efforts in delivering quality representation and democratic dividends to the people.
‎
‎The Senator reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation, assuring the people that the total reconstruction and upgrading of Nkwo Inyi Market would commence before the end of the year. He also promised that the road from Agbo – Ozegu – Umuoji to Afor Igwe would be asphalted, while several other roads in the area would receive attention.
‎In his words, “Be assured that I will speak more about projects and achievements when we officially come for the campaign.” Earlier, the federal and state lawmakers had paid a courtesy visit to the traditional rulers of the area at the palace of the Obibi I of Obibi Kingdom, HRH Igwe Mike Offor Mberedeogu I.
‎The visit was attended by other traditional rulers, including Igwe Ignatius Okpara, Enyi I of Agbada Enyi, and Igwe Festus Umeh, Chieze I of Alum Inyi, alongside their cabinet chiefs.
‎The delegation received traditional blessings and prayers.
‎In a related development, Distinguished Senator Osita Ngwu also reassured the people of Amokwe in Udi Local Government Area that the completion of his ongoing project in the community is within reach, while promising to deliver more developmental projects with their continued support.
‎
‎The Senator gave the assurance on the same day when he also led other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates from Udi and Ezeagu to a solidarity rally organised by the leader of Amokwe stakeholders and former Managing Director of the Enugu State Housing Corporation, Chief Lambert Chukwuemerie Agu. The rally attracted several prominent political leaders and stakeholders, including the host Local Government Chairman, Hon. Hyginus Agu; the member representing Udi South State Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Okechukwu Aneke; the Special Adviser Political to the Governor, Chief Frank Anioma; the Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Ugwu; and the APC candidate for Udi/Ezeagu Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. FSA Uzor, among other distinguished stakeholders from Amokwe.
‎
‎Speaking at the occasion, Senator Ngwu highlighted some of his developmental interventions and achievements in Amokwe, including the provision of a solar-powered borehole that has continued to supply water uninterruptedly, full university scholarships for indigenes of the community, youth empowerment initiatives and skills acquisition training.
‎He further assured the people that the contractor handling the Amokwe–Udi Police Station Road project would return to the site before the end of the year to ensure the completion of the project.
‎In their response, the community, through its various stakeholders, expressed appreciation for the Senator’s interventions and pledged their continued support for him and the administration of His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.
‎The stakeholders also assured all APC candidates of their support and votes in the forthcoming general elections, notwithstanding the fact that some of their sons would be contesting the same positions on the platforms of other political parties. They explained that their decision to support the APC candidates was informed by their commitment to respecting and upholding the existing zoning arrangement in the political zone.
‎The two engagements further underscore Senator Osita Ngwu’s commitment to strengthening grassroots relationships, maintaining effective representation, and ensuring that more democratic dividends reach the people of Enugu West Senatorial District.
