Distinguished Senator Dr. Osita Ngwu, Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Air Force has commiserated with the family of the late Hon. Chief Sir Cornelius Collins Onyeka Okelu, popularly known as Afu Nwa Echeta Nna, Nwa Ka Ibe Ya, on Friday 26th June 2026 at Amata Mgbowo in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State. He described the late Hon. Chief Sir Cornelius Collins Okelu as a respected community leader, devoted family man and accomplished personality whose legacy of service, integrity and commitment to humanity would remain unforgettable.
The Enugu West Senator who also serve as Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Local Content and ably represented by his SPA on Constituency Matters Awgu LGA, Prince Emeka Joe Udeh, accompanied by Ogbuefi Onyedika Donald, Chief Jonas Nwude, Chief Chidi Ejinaka and Mr. Emma Chukwunwike, prayed that Almighty God would grant the departed eternal rest and comfort the entire Okelu family with the grace and fortitude to bear the painful and irreplaceable loss. Responding on behalf of the Okelu family, Mr. Olisaemaka Okelu Okafor expressed profound gratitude to Senator Osita Ngwu for identifying with the family in their moment of grief despite his demanding legislative responsibilities. He noted that the Senator’s gesture reflected his compassion, humility and concern for the people of Enugu West. He equally commended Senator Ngwu for his developmental initiatives across the senatorial district, praying that God would continue to strengthen, protect and grant him greater wisdom and success in his service to the people.
