The Renewed Hope Initiative and presentation of empowerment items to 500 women in Enugu State on Wednesday, September 9th, 2026 at the Old Government Lodge, Enugu, has been described as a significant step towards strengthening women’s economic capacity and improving the welfare of families across the state. Commending the initiative, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Jane Eneh, Deputy Leader Enugu State House of Assembly and Member Representing Awgu North Constituency, applauded the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; the First Lady of Enugu State, Chief Mrs. Nkechinyere Iheoma Mbah (Ife ka Ugo); and the Wife of the Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Mrs. Adaeze Ifeyinwa Ossai, for their commitment to women empowerment and economic advancement. Rt. Hon. Mrs. Eneh noted that providing women with productive empowerment items would help beneficiaries strengthen their businesses, trades and livelihoods, increase their capacity to support their families and contribute meaningfully to the economic development of their communities. She described the intervention as a practical expression of the Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that empowering women remains a strategic pathway to building stronger households and resilient communities.

The Awgu North lawmaker urged the beneficiaries to make productive and sustainable use of the empowerment items, emphasising that the real value of the intervention would be measured by its ability to translate into stronger businesses, improved livelihoods and greater economic independence. She further encouraged women across Enugu State to remain united and actively support programmes designed to advance their welfare and economic participation while urging stronger support for the Renewed Hope Agenda and the APC family ahead of the 2027 elections for the sustenance and expansion of women focused empowerment and development initiatives.
