In remarkable demonstration of unity, appreciation and grassroots political mobilization, Umuada Awgu Progressive Association under the leadership of Amb. Dr. Chinemerem Anyi, on Saturday 4th July 2026, held a historic Grand Endorsement Rally at the Awgu Local Government Secretariat, where it unanimously endorsed Distinguished Senator Dr. Osita Ngwu, Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District and Chairman Senate Committee on Air Force in recognition of his quality representation, legislative excellence and commitment to the welfare of his constituents.
Also endorsed were the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah; Hon. Anayo Onwuegbu, Member representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency; Hon. Uche Okolo, Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area; Hon. Anthony Nwankwo, Member representing Awgu South State Constituency and Prince Charles Ezenta, APC flag bearer for Awgu North State Constituency. Umuada Awgu Global reaffirmed their confidence in the leaders, describing them as partners in the pursuit of sustainable development, good governance and inclusive leadership.
Speaking at the occasion, Distinguished Senator Osita Ngwu, who was represented by Prince Emeka Joe Udeh, SPA on Constituency Matters, Awgu LGA expressed profound appreciation to Umuada Awgu Global for their confidence, endorsement and sustained grassroots mobilization. The Enugu West senator who also serve as Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Local Content urged the women to remain united and continue supporting the APC family from the grassroots to the national level, stressing that collective commitment would attract greater dividends of democracy to the people.
The event drew an impressive array of dignitaries, including Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, represented by Prof. Benedett Okoli, Commissioner for Human Development and Poverty Eradication; the APC State Chairman, Hon.
