“Water they say is life and access to clean water remains the cornerstone of good health and proper hygiene.” This enduring principle continues to define the development agenda of Senator Osita Ngwu, whose dedication to the well-being of his constituents has made the provision of potable water a central focus of his representation. With a clear understanding that clean water supports vital sanitation practices such as handwashing, bathing, and environmental cleanliness, the Senator has positioned water infrastructure as a key driver in reducing the spread of infectious diseases and enhancing the standard of living across Enugu West Senatorial District.

Since assuming office in 2023, Senator Ngwu has intensified efforts toward expanding access to safe water through the construction of multiple boreholes and the deployment of efficient water reticulation systems. These initiatives have brought relief to communities that previously struggled with water scarcity, transforming daily life in meaningful ways. Beyond infrastructure, these projects represent impactful social investments—easing the burden on women and children who often travel long distances to fetch water, improving health outcomes, and restoring dignity within households. Several communities, including Umumba Ndi Uno, Ugwu Aguobu-Owa, Abonuzo, Ozegu-Inyi, Ogwugwu, Ogwofia, Nsude, Upata Ezema (Imezi Owa), Umuavulu/Ubiekpo Abor, Upata Ugwuoba, Obodoakpu-Agbogugu, Udi Deanery, Amaokwe, and Nnewe, are already benefitting from solar-powered borehole installations.

Complementing these new projects is the strategic rehabilitation of previously non-functional boreholes in communities such as Enugu-Umuabi, Ebe, Amube-Amukwu-Affa, Nsude Seminary, Umudimagbala-Oghe, and Achi, among others. This balanced approach ensures sustainability while maximizing existing resources. Through these deliberate interventions, Senator Osita Ngwu continues to demonstrate practical, people-oriented leadership that brings governance closer to the grassroots and delivers real dividends of democracy. Notably, the people have received these initiatives with appreciation, recognizing them as genuine efforts toward improving livelihoods and fostering sustainable community development.
